One snow-sock set can only be considered for two cars after each vehicle’s combination has been checked independently. A match for the first car does not answer the second car’s instructions or restrictions.
Make two labelled records
Write down the vehicle version and complete tyre sizes for each car. If an axle has a different size, keep that distinction visible. A note that says “family car” becomes ambiguous when equipment is moved between vehicles.

Check the common product
Identify the exact snow-sock series and product code. Confirm the relevant tyre application for each car, and then read each vehicle’s traction-device guidance. Matching dimensions alone should not be used to dismiss a restriction on the other car.
Manage the shared kit practically
Keep the appropriate instructions and both confirmed fit records with the set. Inspect it after use before transferring it. If both vehicles may travel independently in winter weather, remember that equipment in the other vehicle is not equipment available for the current journey.
- Separate compatibility checks
- Clear labels and instructions
- Condition and actual availability
A shared set needs a clear system, not a remembered promise. Recheck both records whenever either car changes wheels, and resolve which vehicle has the kit before the drivers leave.
