Having all-season tyres does not remove the need to check the vehicle, route and any extra traction equipment separately. If you intend to carry snow socks, start with the tyres actually fitted rather than the description on an old invoice.
Read what is on the vehicle
Photograph the full size and relevant tyre markings. Check both axles when they may differ, and use the vehicle handbook for the approved setup. A label such as “all season” is not the same piece of information as the complete size needed for the snow-sock chart.

Match the additional equipment
Use the current chart for the exact product series. Keep the tyre code and the confirmed product code together. A previous order for the same car may relate to a different wheel set, so repeat the check after a seasonal wheel change.
Plan the route in sections
Consider where conditions are expected to change and how the product instructions can be followed. Check current weather and road information before leaving. A kit that fits but is packed beneath the holiday luggage is less convenient when you need to consult or use it.
- Check the current tyres.
- Confirm the exact snow-sock product.
- Keep the kit and instructions accessible.
Finish with a clear record of tyre suitability, equipment compatibility and route requirements. None of these checks should be silently substituted for another.
