The most useful fitting preparation happens before you need to stand beside the wheels. Identify the exact product, read its instructions and resolve the vehicle-specific questions while there is time to ask for help.
Bring the information together
Keep the full tyre-size record and the relevant vehicle-handbook section with the kit. Confirm the permitted fitting position and any traction-device restrictions. Do not rely on a general internet instruction for an AWD system or a wheel combination it does not identify.

Inspect what you will handle
Check both socks and the contents against the list for the product version supplied. Make sure the label and instructions are readable. If damage, missing components or a size mismatch is found, resolve it before packing the set as ready equipment.
Plan a safe fitting situation
Think about access, lighting and a suitable place to stop. Follow the vehicle’s instructions for securing it before approaching the wheels. Knowing the fitting sequence does not make a hazardous roadside position suitable for working.
- Correct product and size
- Complete readable instructions
- Accessible equipment and appropriate stopping plan
Preparation is complete when the driver can explain which product is being fitted, where it belongs and which directions apply. That is more useful than memorising an advertised fitting time.
